Both towns are connected by a regular tram service dating back to 1905. Sóller shares the valley with Fornalutx and the village of Biniaraix. The valley is famous for its orange groves and terraces with ancient olive trees. The legendary artists' village of Deià is just a few kilometres along the coast. Port de Sóller can be reached in around 30 minutes by car from Palma airport. Palma itself is 25 minutes away.

Sóller is famous for its excellent restaurants - original or upmarket - also in the harbour and in the surrounding area. Local fishermen offer their fresh catch daily in the harbour. The "Gambas de Sóller", with their incomparably nutty and slightly sweet flavour, are a well-known delicacy that is in demand throughout the country. The same applies to the oranges and olives.
